When the frontside of the hill gets tracked, it’s time to look outside the resort boundaries for fresh snow and new lines. Sometimes a quick push outside of a BC gate can lead to endless rewards with relatively minimal effort. The typical sidecountry day may consist of riding lift accessed terrain all morning follow by a moderate boot pack or traverse outside the gates in the afternoon. For dedicated pass holders who ride all season long, these types of days on the hill are common. While riding fresh pow in the backcountry is the dream, much more common is a mix of on and off piste, lift-accessed riding.
